How to Replace an Aqua Rite Flow Switch

Things You’ll Need

• GLX-FLO-RP

Step 1

TURN OFF THE POWER TO THE TIMER BOX. There should be a circuit breaker before the timer box where the power can be turned off. This is important because you do not want the pump running when you remove the existing sensor.

Step 2

Unplug the flow switch cable from the Hayward Aqua Rite control box. The cable has a phone style plug which makes it very easy to remove.

Step 3

Using an udjustable wrench, remove the black flow sitch from the flow switch tee. The switch will need to be turned counter clockwise.

Step 4

Place the new Hayward flow switch (GLX-FLO-RP) into the flow switch tee by pressing the two posts together and slipping it into the small opening.

Step 5

Tighten the GLX-FLO-RP onto the flow switch tee.

Step 6

Make sure the arrows on the Hayward Aqua Rite flow switch are pointing in the direction of the water flow. If you are not sure of the direction of flow, there are arrows on the flow switch tee that point in the direction of the water flow.

Step 7

Plug the flow switch cable back into the Hayward Aqua Rite control box.

Step 8

Turn on the power at the circuit breaker.

Step 9

Inspect the lights on the Hayward Aqua Rite control box. If everything is working correctly, the "Power" light and the "Generating" light will be illuminated. Note: Once the system is running, it may take a minute or so before the "No Flow" light to stops flashing.
